Murphy’s Law strikes again. Will the same thing happen this weekend with Dodgers Yankees? I started this weekly series prices piece because my picks were doing good and I have a lot of fun finding value on series prices. Low and behold, I go public and go 1-1 on my prime plays and 0-2 on my part unit plays.
Last week I took 4 series dogs, with just one cashing. This week’s strategy has slightly shifted. My prime plays last week were on the Twins (vs. Astros) and Royals (vs. Padres). The Marlins (vs. Rangers) & Giants (vs. Yankees) were my secondary picks.
It’s crazy how fast these lines are changing – it is currently 1PM Mountain time – so be sure to check your favorite sportsbook’s lines to get the best odds. If you missed last week’s picks, visit here to learn about MLB series prices too.
Last Week’s MLB Series Prices Win
My favorite play was the Twins, who I got at +133, at the Astros. We cashed this one after a stellar performance by the Twins starter on Friday. It resulted in a 6-1 win.
Pablo Lopez went 7 strong, allowing just 1 earned run (an Alex Bregman homer). He gave up 6 hits, struck out 6, walking just 1 batter. Bregman’s roundtripper was the only XBH the Astros had.

Minnesota roughed up Ronel Blanco on Friday, who has been very good to start the season. Trevor Larnach went deep off him, while Carlos Santana put the nail in the coffin in the 8th inning with a blast off of Alex Speas.
In Game 2, Houston touched up Joe Ryan while Framber Valdez pitched a gem. The Astros went on to win Game 2, 5-2. The rubber match was set on Sunday, with Simeon Woods Richardson and Hunter Brown starting.
This was a great game. The Twins were victorious, a 4-3 win, in a back and forth affair. Cash this ticket at +133.
Last Week’s Losses
I was feeling pretty good about my MLB picks on Friday night. The Marlins won Game 1 at home, but failed to score another run in the final two games of the series. SF put up a fight on Friday, and with Webb probable for Sunday, I liked my chances of at least a Sunday rubber match – but it wasn’t so.
The Padres looked real good against the Royals last weekend. KC is a young and upcoming team with a great pitching staff. SD is a strange team. After winning the first two games in Kansas City, they’ve now lost 5 straight. This includes 3 to the Angels.

So how about them Marlins? I mentioned earlier they won Game 1, but lost the next two. Without scoring a run. The Rangers – namely Michael Lorenzen and Andrew Heaney – shut down the Marlins following a 8-2 Miami win on Friday. The Marlins mustered 7 hits in each game, with Josh Bell’s double off Gerson Garabito being the only one for extra bases.
MLB Series Prices Picks for June 7 – 9
A quick glance through the MLB series prices odds shows promise. There are a lot of series’ that have short odds, possibly due to the current play of some teams. Are there any series prices you’re looking at? Comment on my IG post.
Although it’s only June, and getting well into the 2nd third of the season, this is a VERY important week for many teams. Squads like the Toronto Blue Jays could find themselves out of contention early with another run of losses.
This sense of urgency gives one more variable to weigh into your decisions on who to wager on. The Dodgers Yankees series offers even more variables. But we have to put a wager on the marquee series of the weekend in the Bronx.
Minnesota Twins @ Pittsburgh Pirates MLB Series Prices
MINNESOTA TWINS (SERIES) -124
PITTSBURGH PIRATES (SERIES) +104
This is a case of a middling team having a great series against the Dodgers. Truth is, the Pirates are a team on the rise. Although Paul Skenes is getting all the press these days, Jared Jones has been a stud. Jones is scheduled to pitch Game 3 on Sunday.

Mitch Keller will pitch Game 1 for the Pirates, with Joe Ryan taking the bump for the Twins. Minnesota sends Simeon Woods Richardson to the mound on Saturday, with Pittsburgh’s starter TBD. Sunday features the aforementioned Jones vs. Bailey Ober.
The Twins are the better team, and have the better pitching matchups. Minny has lost their last 3, but are 5-5 in their last 10. They’re a game above .500 on the road (17-16). Despite winning 2 out of 3 vs. the Dodgers, the Pirates are 5-5 in their last 10, with a 14-16 record at home.
MLB Series Prices Pick: Twins to win the series at -124
Dodgers Yankees MLB Series Prices
LOS ANGELES DODGERS (SERIES) -120
NEW YORK YANKEES (SERIES) +100
Dodgers Yankees should be a lot of fun! There’s a lot to digest here, but the reality is, Dodgers Yankees could very possibly be the 2024 World Series matchup.
Anyone that knows baseball knows that this is basically a coin toss. Originally I was going to go with the Dodgers, but figured going with the better odds is the better play. But then the Soto news changed my thoughts on this Dodger Yankees series.
LA has Yamamoto, Stone and Glasnow listed as probables, with the Yankees rolling out Poteet, Cortes and Gil. If you look at the last 10 Dodgers Yankees games, you’ll see that they went win for win, until the Yankees won the last 2 games of their series in June of 2023.
As I’m writing this, there is no news on Soto. If he is feeling enough pain to warrant an MRI, I suspect Juan Soto will at least miss 1-2 games. He’s been a major cog in the New York lineup, so his health may decide this Dodgers Yankees matchup.
MLB Series Prices Pick: Dodgers to win the series at -120
Cleveland Guardians @ Miami Marlins MLB Series Prices
CLEVELAND GUARDIANS (SERIES) -135
MIAMI MARLINS (SERIES) +115
The Cleveland Guardians are a solid, all around team. They’re currently atop the AL Central with a 40-21 record. Their 40 wins are only bettered by the Yankees (45) and Phillies (44). The Guardians run differential of +80 is third in the AL – after the Yankees (+118) and Orioles (+86).
Miami are deadlast in the National League. The Marlins 21 wins are the second lowest in all of baseball, after the Chicago White Sox 15.
I’m not going to waste much time selling this pick. Cleveland has the better lineup, starting pitchers and bullpen. This is a value at -135. (this line changed twice in 90 seconds on my book – from -135 to -125 then back to -135)
Dodgers Yankees Series Prices Pick: Dodgers to win the series at -135
Seattle Mariners @ Kansas City Royals MLB Series Prices
SEATTLE MARINERS (SERIES) -125
KANSAS CITY ROYALS (SERIES) +105
This is not quite Dodgers Yankees, but this is a sneaky awesome series this weekend. When all is said and done in September, both of these teams will either be in the playoffs or fighting for a Wild Card spot.
After putting money on the Royals last week, I’m fading them this week. I saw a stat while watching the Mariners game yesterday that they have now won 11 of their last 15 series (3 ties).
Seattle has a significant pitching advantage in the 1st 2 games and are one of the hottest teams in baseball.

MLB Series Prices Pick: Mariners to win the series at -125
So there you have it, there’s my MLB series prices for the weekend beginning June 7th. Dodgers Yankees definitely highlights the weekend, but don’t sleep on some other matchups. I will be keeping a very close eye on the Seattle Mariners at Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins at Miami Marlins series’, for good reason.
But I will also be closely watching Baltimore at Tampa, Cubs at Cincy, San Francisco at Texas (I was considering betting Texas, but didn’t like the juice) and Arizona at San Diego. On top of that, the Jays need a VERY strong effort in the Bay if they want to remain competitive in the AL East.
Thanks for reading and join me again next Friday for my top MLB series prices. Will you be watching Dodgers Yankees this weekend?
